Issues

Issues are what matters in politics.  Or at least they are what should matter.

I wrote a long column about the importance of issues just recently here in the Lancaster News.  The summary is pretty straightforward:  the key issues in this campaign are 1) jobs & the economy, 2) taxes & spending, and 3) education.  But there was obviously more to it than that…there were actually real ideas about how we can improve in those areas.

I hope you get a chance to read it.  Somebody wrote me and said it was the best article they had seen from a politician in 20 years.

At the bottom of the page you will find some “How I Voted” pieces that I have written over the last two years.   There are also some “Issues” that, although they didn’t come up for a vote, are still important to talk about.

And over on the sidebar you will find various newspaper columns and other updates.

If you would like to know where I stand on an issue in general, or a specific bill in particular, please drop me a line and I will do my best to post a response here.
